TPP Membership Committee: Recruitment
With a goal of recruiting 10% of Milwaukee County residents to support our parks, we need your help! Recruitment events this spring and summer will include every Weed Out event, free Tuesday night concerts at Boerner Botanical Garden and Humboldt Park, free Saturday night concerts at Washington Park, Parks Department events and your personal efforts to recruit family and friends.

TPP Membership Committee: Associate Board
Want to be an ambassador for The Park People’s work to support our parks and help us achieve our membership goal of 10% of Milwaukee County residents? Associate Board Members must be paid members at the $100 level or higher, and meet quarterly to celebrate their membership recruitment successes and receive updates about The Park People projects and programs.

TPP Parks Issues Committee: Ongoing
Help The Park People research parks issues and inform the community to assist our elected officials in developing solutions to address the ever-increasing needs of our parks.

TPP Parks Issues Committee: Public-Private Partnerships
Help The Park People and other green space advocacy groups develop and recommend mechanisms to our County elected leaders to ensure community input in creating responsibly executed public-private partnerships for our parks.

TPP Environmental Committee: Natural Areas Support
Help The Park People develop a project to support of new and existing natural areas in our parks.

Visit our Weed Out schedule (located under Programs) and become a volunteer Weed Out Warrior today! Volunteer to assist in the Weed Out sessions by calling (414) 273-7275 or contacting us

TPP Fund Development Committee: Wish List Development
Help our dedicated Board of Directors and staff identify specific park maintenance and improvement projects and connect with individuals, foundations and corporations.

TPP Fund Development Committee: Park Market Help us reach out to funeral homes, wedding vendors, schools and other venues to tell our community about how items in our Park Market can help them commemorate individuals and events while serving the needs of our parks!

TPP Friends Group Committee: Friends Group Initiative
Help The Park People provide financial and organizational support to new Friends Groups to help reach our goal of a Friends Group for every park in the Milwaukee County Park System! With The Park People, you know the work will be fun- past efforts have included our wild 1986 Mardi Gras Party to help start Friends of The Domes and our 1995 “First Niter” event at Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro to help start Lake Park Friends.

TPP Friends Group Committee: Friends Group Advisory Council
Already a Friends Group leader? We’re looking for your guidance to help determine and measure The Park People goals for Friends Group capacity-building support! Council members must be elected leaders with their Friends Groups and paid members of The Park People. The Advisory Council will meet twice each year. Friends Groups Friends Groups have numerous events and activities in need of extra hands. Please contact us to learn which Friends Groups need your help!
