It is impossible to separate my memories of growing up in Milwaukee from the glorious memories I have of the Milwaukee County Parks. I marvel at the foresight my grandparents had to invest in all the "green" that makes Milwaukee so desirable and take pride in nurturing the Parks for the generations that will follow me.

As a Milwaukee County resident and a parent, I view it as my duty to become a member of our great parks and museums - the Zoo, Public Museum, Children's Museum, Discovery World, Art Museum, and now the Park People. It is a great investment and the best deal in town.

I am joining the Park People because they are the longest and the most active local organization of people dedicated to stewardship of our parks. Park People recognize what a green gem our county parks are and are willing to commit time, manual labor, political efforts and money to our parks. I intend to become an active part of the Park People.

“When Jeff Sherman and I decided we would launch Friends of Bradford Beach to bring families back down to the lakefront, my friend and mentor at the Mayor’s office emphatically told me, ‘You must talk to The Park People.’  The organization provided the guidance that we needed when it came to the politics of lakefront development and maneuvering the cumbersome process of securing approval for our project.  The Park People has been invaluable as our fiscal agent and inspiring as a source of historical perspective of Milwaukee County Parks.”
