Friends Groups - Our Liaison to Your Neighborhood

County budget limitations have substantially reduced funding and personnel to adequately support the recreational programs, maintenance and improvements we want to see in our parks.

In response, Friends Groups are a wonderful way for the public to provide activities and volunteer help for their neighborhood parks.

What Can Friends Groups Do?

  • Hold Park Clean-Ups
  • Organize Special Events (Harvest Festivals, Community Picnics)
  • Fundraise for Park Maintenance and Improvements
  • Facilitate Weed-Out Sessions to Maintain High-Quality Natural Areas
  • Create Newsletters to Inform the Public on Park Issues
  • Form a Safety Monitoring Program
  • Rally Public Support
